Well here it is! My Kitchen Aid Artisan Stand Mixer… in ICE! (thanks for your votes by the way!)!! I’m so excited! Told Joe I would break it in this weekend!
Latest glassware purchases! Thanks Salvation Army!! Milk glass candle holders, now just to decide on what color candles to use!
My current “food porn” resources. Cook’s Illustrated (2000 recipes!! Holy crap! I know!), Marshes to Mansions, Pirates Pantry, and Small Batch Canning (I don’t think thats the right title, Oh well, I’ll edit this later)
Attempted to make Zucchini Bread but for some reason the middle didn’t cook. Oh well, we ate around it as you can clearly see! It was still good!
First attempt at for realz canning! Or jamming! Made some stupid delicious Raspberry Jalapeno Jam! I’ve been smearing this stuff on everything! I’m totally hooked on canning now!
Neighbor Kody and Neighbor Julie had a little wine tasting at their house. Neighbor Julie made some kind of wine-a-rita, holy smokes it was good!
Neighbor Julie and I (thats going to be her official name from now on by the way) attempted to can some tomatoes… heres the moral of the story… 20 pounds of tomatoes + undersized pot= burt tomatoes! All was not lost though, Neighbor Julie’s husband was able to salvage the wrecked by seasoning the heck out of it! It was good but we tossed the rest of it! (ps Joe, Kody used italian sausage in the sauce, I didn’t tell you because I knew you wouldn’t have eaten it!)
Found this trophy at a garage sale, told Joe I was going to get it for him so he could start his own League (its a Tv series)… he text me back with “SHIVA KAMINI!!!” Kinda wishing I would have bought it. I could have given it to him when he accomplished things around the house like trimming the palm trees or replacing the toilet paper roll! Kidding Joe! (not kidding everyone else!)
Art project with mom. These are photo copies of my grandmothers recipes aged, then glued to a canvas. I didn’t like how it was turning out and kinda gave up. Mom saved this “disaster piece” from the landfills by suggesting we some how attach the wrought iron fleur de lis to it! Turned out quite nice! Way to go mom! Always saving the day!
Joe surprised me with this little pic late one night and I laugh so hard I peed! Literally! (all the momma’s out there, you know what I’m talking about! Don’t act like you don’t!)
